Abstract

Ariyadi Wijaya. De promotie vond plaats op woensdag 21 januari 2015 om 10.30 uur. Promotor is Marja v.d. Heuvel-Panhuizen en co-promotor is Michiel Doorman. The Indonesian national curriculum mandates that mathematics education must be relevant to the needs of life and should offer students opportunities to develop the ability to apply their knowledge. Nevertheless, the low results of Indonesian students on the PISA studies indicate that the students' poor performance in applying mathematics to solve problems situated in real-world contexts. This situation induced the start of the CoMTI project ('Context-based Mathematics Tasks Indonesia').
