About this website
The Freudenthal Institute (Freudenthal Institute for Science and Mathematics Education, Utrecht University) aims to improve the quality of education in mathematics, natural sciences and computer science by:
-
Research, expertise development and knowledge sharing in the field of science education and didactics;
- Educating teachers in science subjects and providing communication and educational courses in various other Bachelor’s en Master’s programmes;
- Professionalization and support of science teachers and networks of teachers;
- Offering educational materials and student activities (outreach).
To support (and as a by-product of) these tasks, a collection has been created over the past years of (free available) learning materials for secondary, higher education, vocational education and primary education in an online repository.
The repository contains a showcase with a selection of the best learning resources developed by the Freudenthal Institute. In addition to the showcase, the database also contains an archive with the full range of learning resources developed by the Freudenthal Institute. Most of the learning materials in the archive can be used, but it is possible that learning materials in the archive are outdated and / or incomplete. We hope that this material will support all teachers involved in the focus area of the Freudenthal Institute in providing rich and varied (beta) education.
Free use is supported. Please use the name Freudenthal Institute when you (re)use the materials.
The materials are also part of the collection of the Dutch Kennisnet/Surfnet/Wikiwijs.
This website is a cooperation between the Faculty of Science (FI/U-Talent/TLL) and the Faculty of Social Sciences (O&T) of the Utrecht University.
